19 Apr iPhone + Samsung focus issues when filming
Does the focus flick while you’re filming?
This is the phone trying to compensate the depth of field while you’re moving around.
You will see in your replay your phone trying to focus by pulling in focusing and pulling out again. Very quickly, but still annoying.
If this is happening to you, it’s a very simple fix.
You can lock the focus on the iPhone sort of like holding the shutter release button halfway down locks focus on a traditional digital camera.
Step 1: Tap and hold a spot on the screen for a few seconds until you see a yellow box flash around your finger.
Step 2: Let go, and you’ll see the message “AE/AF Lock” on the screen.
You can now re-compose the shot, and the focus and exposure will remain the same until you tap the shutter release button.
Manual focus – same as above, plus you lucky guys have also got an AF button you can select.
On camera > Settings > turn on “Tracking AF” feature. Same as before, select a subject (yourself) in the preview screen and hold for 3 secs. Having the tracking mode on is supposed to track you as you move.
Have a play and see which one works better for you.
